Abstract

This study was carried out in the Praia do Leblon and had as purpose to analyze the human interference in the Emerita brasiliensis Schmitt, 1935 population in two seasons, in winter and summer, in three different points. The collections were performed during four days every 8 hours, in the intertidal. During the sampling 100 individuals were caught, 66 in winter and 34 in summer. The highest number of catches occurred in winter and the point P2 was that with highest abundance. It was found that human activities influence the abundance this crustacean in Leblon Beach.
