Abstract

The present study consists of a gathering of information done in women who had been submitted to Cytopathologic examination at the Unidade de Saude da Karyna Rondelli.  The objective of the study was to identify the characteristics of the microorganisms and cellular alterations in the samples collected during the precautionary period. Methodology data was made available by the Municipal Health Department of Santa Teresa - ES, being analyzed through graphs and tables to highlight the prevalence of microorganisms according to the patients age group.  A total of 660 Cytopathological reports were analyzed with the average age group being from 16 to 85 years old from the period of November 2021 to May 2023.  The prevalence of microorganisms found in Vaginal microbiota was Lactobacillus sp, followed by cocos, Gardinerella vaginalis, candida sp and ASCUS with a smaller percentage.  Conclusion, with the study of the data obtained, it is determined that the Lactobacillus sp is more commonly found in women who are in the reproductive phase. Although during menopause there is a considerable increase of cocos and decline in Lactobacillus sp, in response to the vaginal pH. While the Gardinerella vaginalis and Candida are present in sexually active women of productive age.
