Abstract

Charydbis hellerii (Milne Edwards, 1867), native from the Indo-West Pacific, was introduced in the western Atlantic Ocean in the late 1980s and, more recently, its presence has been reported to some Brazilian states. This paper is the first formal register of C. hellerii at Espírito Santo state, wich currently constitute um gap in its distribution along the Brazilian coast. Because of its rapid geographic spreading, its necessary to be monitored in order to cautions possible impacts in members of marine community.
