Abstract

Among the possible applications, ecological niche modeling can be used to predict areas susceptible to biological invasion. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the risk of biological invasion of the species Paulownia tomentosa (Thunb.) Steud. in Bra-zil. For this, points of occurrence of the species were obtained from the GBIF online database. To perform the modeling analysis, the Bioclim algorithm was used. The software used was DIVA-GIS 7.5. P. to-mentosa was susceptible to biological invasion in all Brazilian biomes. Due to the impacts that the species can cause, planting it without strict management is not recommended, especially in regions where sus-ceptibility varied from medium to extremely high.
